So I have a friend who is not going on a bachelorette party with the reason being she will be a week into her third trimester....

Just lead me to want to ask everyone what your doctors advise on travel. I had never heard of not traveling your entire third trimester. I have family trips planned up until the end of July and am not planning for airplane travel after August. What have you done with other pregnancies or what have your doctors said about this pregnancy?

Last time DH and I went tent camping for 2 weeks when I was 27/28 weeks pregnant. We drove about 2500 miles, hiked, slept in a tent...it was awesome! I don't see pregnancy as a reason not to get out and enjoy life, and my doctor said it was fine as long as I stayed hydrated and felt okay.

This time we are planning to attend a family reunion of sorts and have a beach condo reserved for my 31st week. It is only a few hours drive, so not a huge deal.

Most cruise lines won't let you travel after week 22, and most airlines won't let you fly after 34 weeks. Otherwise I think it is kind of common sense...if you feel okay and your doctor doesn't see a problem with it, go for it!

I have plans to travel in July. I hope that there shouldn't be any issue with it. I'm sure driving well over 6000 km non-stop will be mighty uncomfortable.

We are planning a trip to Oregon in June-ish, and so far I haven't really heard too many problems with traveling during that point in the pregnancy as long as I am feeling well. I'll still only be in the second trimester though, so that will be fine, I'm sure. I know they just start to worry once you hit that final trimester.

Thanks to *Sharon* for my awesome siggy! My pregnancy blog

My doctor won't let me go any further than a hour drive once I hit the 34 week mark. And I can't drive out of town once I hit the 36 week just in case I go into labor.
