On Thursday the 5th at 3:15 pm I had a midwife appointment where she did a very thorough sweep. By 4:30 pm contractions were coming 5-7 minutes apart so at 6:30 pm I headed in to l&d only to get sent home because no changes had been made. By midnight the contractions were so intense I couldnt take it anymore so I called my midwife again. We met at the hospital shortly after one and I was 3cm and 90% effaced and contractions were 4 minutes apart so she broke my water. By 2:00 am I was begging for an epidural because the contractions were so intense but when they finally got the iv in I felt the urge to push. I was 8cm and while I was being examined went to ten and it was time to push. At 2:50 am Isabella Lynn came into the world weighing 8lbs 2 oz just like Logan and Caleb. This was my first natural labour and by far the best labour experience I have had. Isabella had a small amount of trouble breathing because there was fluid in her lungs but they were able to get her breathing normally without having to bring her to the NICU so that was a huge relief. She was delivered onto my tummy but because of the breathing issue I didnt get to nurse her right away but the midwives made sure to bring her to him asap. We nursed for a bit and then while she got her check up I took a shower and by 6:30 am we were at home and resting.
