My MIL even told me that I was "spoiling" Douglas by changing his diaper too quickly - apparently I should let him sit in a soaking wet diaper for a while every time so that he doesn't get used to having a clean one?
I've read the comment of your MIL and just wanted to tell you, you're doing just fine by changing him asap !!!

I did this with both of my boys and strongly believe that this was the reason why they both were potty trained early....they HATED the feel of a dirty/wet diaper because they were NOT used to it !!!

Thanks for the reassurance! I bet you're right about your boys potty training early because of that. If you'll pardon my comparing kids to animals for a sec here (lol), that reminds me of the dogs I've fostered who came from filthy puppy mills. They were wayyyyyy harder to potty train than any dog I've had that came from a clean place because they were used to the filth and they didn't dislike it like a normal dog (or person) would.
