Still preggers, but my two good friends are doing a wine tour this Saturday and I am super jealous. I really want to go!!!! They keep telling me to have the baby today so I can go with them on Saturday.. lol. I wish!
I've had a couple of beers and a few glasses of wine, it's awesome! My tolerance is way down though, I feel a bit buzzed after half a bottle of beer. My doctor said alcohol is ok in moderation while BFing, so I'm sticking to that.
Nope, I've never actually had an adult beverage. I wasn't raised around alcohol so never planned to drink it when I hit a certain age, DH started drinking young (sipping of his Dad and was regularly drinking by 14) and went sober the first winter we were together after 15 years (He was 29, I was 19.) He is now 7 years sober! We don't keep any alcohol in the house, I don't even cook with it. With all those variables, I never drank. I do love a virgin daiquiri though.
I have had a few drink since he was born. I had a Woodchuck Cider at the concert on Saturday and a Mike's Winterberry a few nights, just one each night. And one night I had a Nutty Irishman....lol
I was told that drinking and breastfeeding is kay in moderation, the key is ifyou are okay to drive you are okay to feed. And that once you feel 'unbuzzed' you can feed.

There is no need to pump and dump. The alcohol does not stay in your breast milk, so as long as you don't feel a buzz the alcohol is not going to go to the baby. Unless you want to pump just to relieve pressure while you wait for the buzz to go away (but that would be wasting milk!) The key is only drink 1 or 2 so you aren't buzzed and then you don't even have to wait!
When they persisted in questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "Let the person among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." John 8:7 Sail Back to Me
No drink yet but have not had an opportunity to. I tend to not drink unless there is an occasion to drink. Maybe for Ryan and I's anniversary next month or my birthday. Otherwise, I am good without it! I don't worry too much about breastfeeding and alcohol...I'll just limit it to one drink and hold off on nursing for a bit.
Oh and I just realized I am now taking those antidepressants so I really SHOULDN'T drink anyway.
LOL after Leila was born my sister and i went out for my birthday(so Leila would have been like 3 months old) and I had a margarita. I got so buzzed from that one drink I had to wait to drive for a long time lol.
Geez it's been so long since I've had any alcohol. The last time was before I was pregnant with Haidon! I would love a margarita, but even though alcohol in moderation while BFing is okay, it makes me uncomfortable, so I will most likely wait until he has weaned. I am a lightweight anyway so I will probably be sloppy drunk after half a drink!
