I read that you can get your first period 6 to 8 weeks after delivery or longer if you are breastfeeding. I'm breastfeeding and I'm pretty sure I got my period today. Dylan is 6 weeks and 2 days old. I'm worried because they are putting my birth control in on Thursday (implanon) and I don't want to get my cycles all messed up. I'm also worried that this seems too soon and maybe something else is wrong. Anyone else resumed their normal cycle?
Are you supplementing with formula at all? Is Dylan sleeping through the night? Either of these cases can cause your period to resume on the same schedule as non-breastfeeding moms(the 6-8 weeks). Implanon is a hormonal birth control right? Just be careful with those because they do have the possibility of affecting your supply.
With Leila AF returned when she was about 12 weeks old and with Owen it was I think 8 months. I am hoping to go 8 months this go too but I am doubtful. She is too good of a sleeper so I wouldn't be surprised if it came anytime. She is the same age as Dylan.
