I went to my dr's appointment today. Dr wants me to get a glucose blood tester (which I did on the way home) and test my sugar levels 2 hrs after every meal. My stomach is measuring on the larger end of normal..not too worrying...yet...but with the GD she wants to keep a close eye on his size, especially since I'm a small person.

Brayden's heartbeat w/the doppler was in the 130s. They did a 20 minute NST and he looked beautiful, reactive and had plenty of ups and downs in his heart rate and activity, and plenty of kicks. She says he looks wonderful in there.

I got a lot of my questions answered...first I signed the form for a tubal ligation so that my medical will cover it if I deliver 30 days or further from now. I am not going to do a tubal unless I for some reason ended up in an emergency c-section, which I highly doubt, but the form has to be signed 30 days in advance to be covered. DH is scheduled for his actual vasectomy May 2nd.

She explained a bit more about diet, and watching closely what I eat. She explained Brayden could be born w/low blood sugar and jaundice...great. All my babies have had jaundice (the first two pretty severe), and had to have bili lights and an extended stay at the hospital. Here's to hoping if I monitor it well it won't make the jaundice issue worse.

I also explained how I wanted to go natural w/out an epi (she asked "Have you ever done it without an epi before? Are you SURE?") Why yes I have and why yes I am sure!

We also discussed circumcision which they will do in their office at 1 week old.

I go back in two weeks on the 27th, and they will do my "36" week ultrasound, check his size and make sure everything looks good. Even though I will only be 35.5 weeks they are going to take me off the procardia, let me do modified bedrest (can be on my feet a little more!), and off pelvic rest. She thinks they will be able to get me that extra week or two to 36.5-37.5 weeks doing it this way without prolonging everything in the event that I am carrying a larger than normal baby due to GD.

So...we are nearing the light at the end of the tunnel! On a cruddy note my asthma is back and I had to get another inhaler and I think I'm getting a cold on top of everything. But at least I know I only have a few weeks until I give birth and meet my beautiful baby boy!

Momma to Alex (2005), Cadence, (2008), Ethan (2010), Brayden (2012), and Adrianna Elise due September 19th 2014

Stepmom to two (2006, and 2009).
