So my 3 year old son broke out in a rash that we discovered is fifth disease. I have never been tested for the titer before in previous pregnancies so I called my doctor to have the test done (it is just a simple blood test) and they gave me a huge run around because apparently since I told them I was going to be moving out of state before my next regular 4 week appointment I am no longer a patient there This is the only OB I've used and the fifth pregnancy I've seen them for and they were so super rude about letting me get this test. My insurance is all current with them and all so it shouldn't have been a big deal at all. And they basically told me it didn't matter if I found out if I was immune or not because even if I wasn't there isn't anything they could do. Well sorry but I'd rather know if I am immune because that means I do not have to worry at all that it will affect the baby.

Anyway long story short I finally convinced them to let me come in and get the blood drawn. They won't have the results back for about a week but hopefully I've already been exposed in the past and it will not be a big deal. Not the extra stress I need right now with trying to get ready to move next week. Also made me realize there really won't be love lost by moving away from this OB office.

Doctors offices just amaze me sometimes! And I think that 9 times out of 10 it is just the office staff creating a poor reflection of the Doctor, and the doctors are so busy they don't know its going on.

I'm glad they agreed to do it, and also I'm glad that they showed their true colors so you won't ever have that "I really miss my old office" feeling!

I am sorry. That sounds awful to have had to deal with. (I hope your little one feels better soon too.)

Yeah there are a couple of doctor's at the practice that I really like (only one that I absolutely do not like at all). In the middle of my last pregnancy one of my favorite OB's left this practice and started his own because he felt they were expecting him to treat too many patients and he didn't know their background well enough to treat them properly.

The office staff and some of the nurses are always busy and brushing you off and making you feel like you are iconveniencing them. The only reason I went back to them for this pregnancy is because I knew I'd be moving part way through the pregnancy and didn't want to have to deal with switching my records twice. I'll definitely be pickier this choosing a new practice when I move.
