I think your number is fine. What matters most is that it doubles in 48 hours. Wishing you a happy healthy 9 months

I had a 13dpo hcg of exactly 28 with my last little one, who is now 5mo old! I charted, so I knew I was exactly that, and was totally freaked out by the low number, but it tripled to 101 by 15dpo and all was good! Just look at your doubling rate, thats all that matters!

Most OBs now perform at least if not more than 2 Beta draws.... they want to make sure that your numbers are doubling.

Is it always 48 hours? As in, I couldn't go tomorrow because they are not open on Sunday? Oh...I just checked and I don't think they are there on Saturday either. They didn't mention any of this in the "just stop by" conversation. UGH!!!

I also am starting to freak out that my doc might not see pregnant women...although I had mentioned it before and he didn't indicate that I needed to find someone else. Here's his profile - Barry D. Shaktman, M.D. | Weill Cornell Physicians Organization | Advancing Science. Enhancing Life. - he specializes in Gyn but also runs the Ob/Gyn residency program. What do you think?(Please, please, please, let me not be in the hands of a resident!!!!)

OK - and since I'm already asking a million questions - I live 2 blocks away from NYU Medical Center (where I did my graduate work). I started going to this Gyn 2 years ago when I started my Post Doc at Weill Cornell/NY Pres - and I really like him. When the time comes, though, is it going to be silly to have to schlep all the way up to 70th and York Ave (about 10-20 min away)? And we don't have a car - so how do I get the baby back? In a cab? Do you put car seats in cabs?? OMG!!! That's totally not in WTEWYE. AHHHH!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHA

I realize that it might be helpful to find an Urban Mommies Group - but some of them are so intimidating! Maybe it is just easier to move to fly over country JK!!!

It's okay!! RELAX!! It doesn't have to be exactly 48 hours!! Really it just has to be more than 48 hours - so that they can estimate the doubling time!!! In fact "HCG levels on average do double, but may increase at a much slower rate (1.53x) up until about 2000 IU/L of HCG. After that time the increase is very variable." So RELAX!!!!
