Anyone starting a list or starting to pack stuff for the hospital?

I'm going to need a refresher - it has been a long time!

hah! I'm always packed and ready by then!

I know for sure my labor stuff will include a birth ball - but I have to buy it first.

I will have my bag by the time I am 30 weeks. I have started making a list already because 30 weeks is just over 10 weeks away for me, and with how quickly this pregnancy has gone so far I know the next 10 weeks will fly by.

this hospital is brand new to me, and if it is like the other hospitals in the area, they will have 2. I don't want to chance it.

I need to buy one anyway, for home use, just going to take it with us...

so what are some item we need to pack?

things I need pre-baby:
EPO
red raspberry leaf tea

things I will need for labor:
money for DH for food and parking
hard candy
hair clips/bands
birth ball and pump
gown (I have my own plus size one)
DH's scrubs (we purchased plus size ones for him when pg w/#2) just in case

hospital stay:
pj's
old undies (I hate those mesh ones)
brush
deodorant
tooth paste
going home outfit
clothes to go home in for me

I have not even thought about it to be honest! I think I had mine packed sometime after 30 weeks, but it wasn't quite that early either. I was SO glad I had it all packed since I went into labor at 37 weeks!

Don't forget -
Shampoo
Conditioner
Body Wash
Makeup (if wanted)
Slippers/Socks
Robe (if wanted)
Extra bag for bringing home all the "extra" stuff/gifts if necessary (I wish I had thought of this last time, we had so much more crap coming home!)
Nursing bras/gown/shirt
glasses/contacts & case
Chap Stick!
Books/magazines
cell phone charger

the only thing I've thought about as far as the hospital bag goes is when I was cleaning out the nursey closet and saw the bag I want to use

I will pack sometime after 30 weeks as well. probably closer to 35.

I usually start casually packing here and there after 30 weeks, but usually closer to 34-36, just so I won't be scrambling for everything if I unexpectedly go into labor early, but I actually finish the night before the c-section, and certain things (make-up, glasses, contact stuff, etc) get thrown in the bag the morning of.

Definitely don't forget the things like the cell phone charger, the camcorder/camera chargers or extra batteries if your camera's not chargeable.

I haven't started packing yet. I did order new bags to pack my things in though, lol! I like being prepared for everything well in advance so I will probably pack most of it way early. Except for the electronics and chargers.

I will have:
~ One bag for my personal things (mostly items that have already been mentioned). And also a separate smaller bag for toiletries and make-up along with hair care items (it has lots of pockets).
~One bag for my DH (change of clothes, toiletries, psp (yes he and our son love video games) cell phones & charger, camera & charger.
~ One bag of items for my older children while visiting (things to do, their camera's & my dd's camcorder, gifts from baby, money for machines and gift shop, etc.)
~ One bag for snacks for everyone (I have found in the past this comes in very handy).
~ Baby girl's diaper bag will have all of her things in it.

That may seem like a lot of bags, but I like to be organized and the bags wont be huge like duffel bags, lol.

I will pack:
One bag for labor and it will have:
Bible
Camera/video camera
laptop
lotion
flameless scented candle
baby book for feetprint
Hair clip
Notebook and pens
Music CD with playlist
Picture of my kids
Extra change of comfy clothes and underwear for DH
Snacks for both of us
Money for the food for DH

Bag for post partum stay:
Yoga type pants and tee shirts
homecoming outfit
hair straightner/curling iron
lotions and toiletries
makeup
underwear
phone numbers
change of clothes for DH
some things that were already in the labor bag- laptop, cameras, notebooks, baby book

Diaper bag for baby:
picture outfit
coming home outfit and blanket
a couple outfits to dress him up in for fun when I get bored
empty folder for all the paperwork you accumulate in the hospital

Also for my kids at home who are younger than ten, I will pack a back pack for each containing enough underwear, PJ's and changes of clothes until I"m home. This makes it infinitely easier for everyone, the kids and whoever is caring for them if all their stuff is right there in the backpack.

Angela, I love the idea of backpacks for your younger children while you are away! I think I will do that for my 9 and 11 year old! Also I completely forgot about packing the bible, picture of my children, and never even thought of bringing an empty folder! Excellent idea to keep papers nice and neat and not getting all wrinkled up! Oh, and I never considered a flameless scented candle!! Totally love that idea too!!

I have an app on my phone and one of the lists on there is what to pack for the hospital so I will probably just go off of that for the most part.

It REALLY helps that we live basically across the street from the hospital. DH will be able to go home to take care of the dogs as needed and pick up anything we may have forgotten, or my parents can hop over there

Silver11Princess- HUGS!!!!!!! Please feel free to PM me anytime you need a shoulder. That fear is VERY real to me and you just need to focus on the here and now and stay positive He WILL be here in your arms alive and well <3 <3 <3

My hospital bag is already packed. With all the complications we've had and how my previous pregnancies have gone I know it can be just one afternoon from all is well to you're here for a XYZ. Thankfully our hospital is awesome and provides most of everything you need. I stashed an extra pair of clothes, toiletries (although they do provide it all!) and some stuff to do like knitting and a book. I'll grab what I need if I can and if not someone will make a run with a list for me Once it's closer to baby time I'll add a few outfits and blanket but they provide everything else.

i usually pack at around 38 weeks because i am almost always late. that only backfired on me once when i went into labour with my third baby at 38 weeks and hadn't packed anything. also, my contractions went from 0-60 super fast so by the time i said, 'ooh i think this might be it', we just had time to grab the camera before running out the door! i will be more prepared this time. i just hate to do it too early and then go overdue and then sit glaring irritably at that bag!
