I've had some brown spotting the last few days, and ended up going in for an ultrasound today. Baby looks great , and we stuck to our guns and did not find out the gender The only concern is that when they measured my cervix on ultrasound it measured 3.2...which apparently is slightly shorter than the 3.5 they like to see at this point. So I have to go in 2 weeks from now to have another ultrasound to check my cervical length.
Does anyone have any experience with this? My pregnancy with my son was completely uneventful, and he was born at 39 1/2 weeks. I'm a little freaked out by this news, and googling is freaking me out more. The Dr. told me to avoid intercourse for a few days due to the spotting but otherwise didn't give me any instructions for bedrest or anything. Hopefully everything will be ok.
I'm sorry that I can't offer any information as I too have no experience. I can offer one piece of advice and say that Google can scare the crap out of you when you Google things that worry you about pregnancy, so don't believe everything you are reading. Chances are things you may read are worse case scenario type things or things that happen on a very rare occasion.
I'm glad baby is doing fine! Yay for having the strength to still not find out the gender. I find that admirable to say the least, I wish I had the will power to wait for the BIG surprise!!
