I had my first doctor's appointment yesterday. I didn't get to hear the heartbeat because I'm too early still and my first ultrasound was booked at the hospital.....for June 14!!! Another 5 weeks until I get to see my baby for the FIRST time. I've had no ultrsound yet. I'll be 12 weeks and 1 day by then. I do not even get to hear the heartbeat for the first time until my next appointment in a month from now at 11 weeks.

Wow!! Do you have a doppler at home? Maybe that could help you? I don't know if I could go that long with out a heart beat check, at least.

I know, it is horrible. And no I don't have one of those heart beat dropplers. I have bad morning sickness so I guess that is a good sign if anything!

That sucks! And I know exactly what it feels like as I haven't had an ultrasound yet and they couldn't find the babies heartbeat at my last appointment. That's why I got a doppler and it has put my mind at ease.

That's rough- they couldn't find the heartbeat at my first appointment either (at 8w6d) but had me come in the following week. It was really hard to wait. They had difficulty finding hb at 10 weeks too (but did find it) at 10w1d so that is probably why they are making you wait, but ugh!!! that is so frustrating!!! Like the other ladies said you might be able to pick the hb up on a home doppler for reassurance in another couple of weeks...

That's how my doctors office is. My first appt isn't even until I'm 12 weeks, so that will be the first time I hear the heartbeat. And I only get one u/s at 20 weeks. That's it.
