I was 3 days overdue. I had my last apt on Monday, they swept my membranes again and had me due a NST and Biophysical because I wasn’t feeling her moving. That was really scary. They did see her move and told me that it was because my placenta was in the front.
So Tuesday I go to work and worked still 5pm, came home and had dinner went to do the dishes around 6:30pm and had a really bad cramp, my husband asked me if I was in labor and I told him “I don’t know I’ve never been in labor” lol. So he went to help a friend out and I told him I would call if I was in labor. An hour later the contractions were really strong, I called and had him come home. By that time, they were really fast and I was having trouble telling my husband when they started to time them. We had my Mom and Sister-in-law come to the house. I called the midwife and they told me to come to the hospital. I was rushed through the ER in a wheel chair. This was about 8:00pm.
I got into the Johnny and they checked me, I was 4 centimeters dilated. I labored still about 10:40 without any pain meds. They pain was getting unbearable and my resolve was ready to break. They asked if I wanted an epidural and I told them to check me first to see how dilated I was and I was 10,So I pushed for 10 minutes and she was born. My husband said I was on a natural high. The birth was perfect. I didn’t want an epidural if I didn’t need one and my labor was fast. She came out perfect. She was 6lbs 4oz, a lot smaller than we expected due to the placenta detaching, which I found out after the delivery, we were really lucky she came fast when she did or I would of ended up with a c-section.
But everything worked out and I am so grateful to have her, I still can’t believe it some days that she is here. It has been a long journey (3 years of trying, losses and tests), but well worth it. I am blessed.
