So lately I have know a lot of people who are having babies. Well one of my friends who is due in 11 days, was told she was having a little boy. So she planned on having a little boy, nursery, clothes everything little boy themed. Well at last week at the last scan she was having to judge weight on the baby, she was told she was having a little girl. She a little bummed but know has to take back a lot of items just to get little girl stuff within the last few days before delivery. She went in to the gender scan at 15wks, she even had the anatomy scan a few weeks later. Both saying boy.
She is very excited she is getting a little girl, but more scared then anything because she doesn't know what to expect since her first child was a little boy.

Oh wow! that must have been some shock!

Girls are great - I found infancy with my daughter easier than with my son (only because he had a circumcision & that scared me), it is the teenage years that ate killing me I'm sure she'll do fine.

Oh, wow! That worries me too - I hope they get it right! I guess that is one thing that is better about waiting until I am 20 weeks to find out gender... I think it is more accurate at 20 weeks than 15 (though I still wish I could find out sooner!!)

wow... that would have been a shock!! She said she could guess at our 15 weeks scan but we told her we wanted to be 100% sure!

Mistakes do happen! I'm sure it was super shocking for her. We're staying on team green this time and not finding out, so we will just keep guessing until baby arrives!

it's way more likely to mistake a girl for a boy bc of the cord.. than it is to mistake a boy for a girl.. that stinks though!!! thats one reason why i don't buy to much before baby comes, i have a couple outfits here and there that are gender specific to what i was told, but i don't go nuts because of this reason!

That would be really tough to go through... one of those things that make a great story later on, and probably not much trouble once you're past the initial shock.

I think I'd be

a) sad I can't use the name I've fallen in love with
b) annoyed at having to bring stuff back to the stores
c) annoyed at having to buy more stuff
d) ultimately, ok with it and happy to be having a baby at all!

One reason why I stay team green the whole way. It is better to have the surprise finding out what you had at delivery then to find out the surprise that you had the opposite gender then what you were previously told.

The tech had to work really hard at getting this baby's cord out of the way to tell for sure. I can totally see how the cord can cause a girl to look like a boy on ultrasound. I'd be nervous if we didn't have that obvious 3D shot!

That would be a shock to find out after you are all ready for a boy. That's why I'm glad I still have a few more u/s's to go. Even with Akadia, I made them check like 3 different times.

That would be a big shock, and one of the reasons I am not finding out what I am having. Is she 100% sure it's a girl now?

Hi popping in from March 2012. I found out I was having a girl at 19 1/2 wks - never had a reason to have another u/s and dh opted out of the 3d one too. I delivered a beautiful healthy baby boy in Feb. It was truly the most amazing/shocking experience. It took us 3 days to pick a name (I had a c-section so we had time to think).

I really wanted a boy, but there was a little heartbreak when I had to put her clothes up. I wouldn't trade it for anything though. Needless to say we'll be on team green for the next one...LOL
