I have just been notified that I've been selected to volunteer for the Olympic Trials in San Jose! Woo hoo! Its going to be a once in a lifetime experience! I'll be an airport greeter for 2 days and work the information desk the day of the final competition for the women.

Gymnastics has been a part of my life since I was 6 years old... I'm so thrilled for this opportunity!

So awesome!!!! I hope you have so much fun. My daughter has been doing gymnastics since she was three, started on the team a few months before she turned 5. She is in her second year on team, and just took first at states!! We are on to nationals soon, and so excited! I'd love for her to have the same opportunity as you someday (or even better, actually participate in the Olympic trials!!)

That is soooo cool! I have been involved with gymnastics since i was 9 (competed to Level 10 and coached in college), so I'm totally excited for you! I was at the Pacific Rim Championships back in March and it was really cool to see the up and comers. I wonder who's going to make the team! I'll be following closely

And you'll be at the final day! So cool!!! I love the Olympics and gymnastics I'm seriously giddy right now!

Ooh! That sounds so wonderful!! What an opportunity!

Can you tell us the dates? I always seem to miss when they are broadcast on TV and I love gymnastics so much! If I have an idea of when to look for the broadcast I might actually catch it!!

How awesome to find someone in the DDC who was a gymnast as well! I competed to level 9 and have coached on and off for the last 10 years! I'm excited to watch the girls compete. My old coach is one of the national team coaches or something along those lines.... I just always see him on tv at all these meets lol. Maybe I'll get to say hi to him too

The Trials are June 28th - July 1st. Here is the broadcast schedule:

Times are EASTERN. Check local listings.

Thursday, June 28
5:30 - 8:00 p.m. - NBC Sports (Formally Versus)
Men's Competition Day 1

Friday, June 29
9:00 - 11:00 p.m. - NBC
Women's Competition Day 1

Saturday, June 30
4:00 - 6:00 p.m. - NBC
Men's Competition Final Day

Sunday, July 1
9:00 - 11:00 p.m. - NBC
Women's Competition Final Day

On Friday morning and Saturday evening, I'll be greeting people at the airport. I don't know if I'm greeting celebrities, gymnasts, coaches, ect... but as my grandpa pointed out tonight, they don't greet nobodies. And on Sunday I'll be working the info desk until about an hour before the women's finals. My mom and grandma have decided that they want to come with me! So it looks like we're making a family trip out of it

That sounds like so much fun! I was a gymnast from 3-13 years old. I was competing, but had a bad back injury and my doctors recommended I stop to my parents. I still love the sport though! You'll have a blast.

I'm going to have to have my my DVR is. We will be in Boston for a wedding and mid-cross country move (June and July are CRAZY for us this year). But I'm staying with my mom and dad the first week of July, so I'll make sure she records it for me. Yay! I haven't made any predictions yet. You?

I'm thinking Aly Raisman, Jordan Weiber, Makayla Maroney, Gabby Douglas and probably Nastia Luiken. With Rebecca Bross as the alternate. Although I'd really like to see all fresh faces this year. I think we have the talent!
