So DD has never taken a bottle. We have tried a few different kinds...even the kinds that are supposed to be more like the beast. It's really stressful for all of us when DH stays home with her while I'm out because she pitches a fit at the sight of a bottle and will hold out starving half to death till she can have the real McCoy. Today I bought a sippy cup thinking we'll have wait until 6 months or so. Decided to give it to her with some breast milk in it and she drank from it, no problem! We were astonished. She can even hold and manipulate it pretty well. The sippy cup packaging says 6+ months but I read online you can introduce sippy cups with breast milk/formula/water as young as 4 months.

Anyone else thinking about introducing a sippy cup anytime soon?

I was kinda amazed when I learned you could give cups to babies that small!

I plan on giving it a try whenever we start solids, but we will see how it goes.

I think cups are the route we're gonna have to go, too. Evan still refuses bottles, and it's so frustrating. Even my family doesn't want to babysit him.

I use a dropper right now to get water into Rose. So hot in Louisiana, sometimes she just needs water! lol She refuses a bottle, too. I was going to start her on a sippy as well when the time came.

Arwen, that's something I've always wondered. My doctor has said absolutely nothing but breast milk or formula until 4 months old. Does that include water? I mean I understand about the foods thing, but why no water?
