I went by my FIL's house tonight, and his wife gave me a stroller, a swing, another little swing thing? a car seat, and 3 huggeee boxes of baby clothes. O.O I've been told by them and a few other people they'd give me old girl clothes but wow! I wasn't expecting NEAR this much. They also have a bed they want to give me. She has 9 grandchildren and 7 are girls so you can imagine the stuff her kids have built up for little girls. There's still even more yet to sort through. Everything they've given so far is in really good condition too... I was so surprised. The big swing they have I was just looking at the other day at Burlington it was 195.00... I was actually planning on buying it so you can imagine my delight at them having the same one

Then, on top of the other people giving us stuff, there's the baby shower, people alwayyss buy clothes for baby showers. I feel like there's no need for me to go buy any clothes at all... I'm going to be swimming in baby clothes.

It's so exciting getting all this stuff. Makes me want to buy her dresser I have picked out now and start setting up so it's not all sitting around in boxes. Is it too soon for all that?

That is alot of stuff so far. I dont think its to early to start setting up. That way you dont have boxes just sitting around.

That is awesome. The more people give you, the less you will need to buy yourself and you get to save some money.

That's awesome! I say start setting up as soon as you can. I try to do stuff early so I don't have to worry about it when I'm further along. I had Akadia's nursery all ready to go by the time I was 7 months and I used to just sit in there and imagine her being there.

It is always nice when people give you stuff for free. Especially clothes since they spit up and poop on so many outfits those first few months.

I agree with Sam and check the expiration date on the car seat if it looks like an older one. I don't think it is too early to get a dresser and start setting up. It is nice to have everything in place before the end. One less thing to worry about.

That's awesome! I agree, I wouldn't use the car seat either. Not too early to start organizing at all!

Hurrah for free stuff. I am OCD, so I say, go ahead and get the dresser. It would be so fun to have the room with lots of stuff in it. I love Leanne78's idea that she goes in there and just imagines the baby being there.

What blessing!! You can never have too many baby clothes If you know which dresser you want, I'd say get it and start putting things away! It's so much fun to get everything set up!!
