Has any mommies figured out the best way to get their baby to take oral iron supplements???
We have to give it to our DS 3 times a day and its almost impossible, it taste and smells gross, Tristan has a fit, doesnt want to open his mouth, cries, screams, holds his breath... His pediatrition still advises us against started any foods so we can't mix it with anything and Im reluctant to put it with my breastmilk because I dont want him to start refusing to drink that....

Mrs Harris, Doodlebug,
Let me explain cause it seems that from my post u understood that I implied that my DS needed iron supplements due to the fact he was EBF, which is not the case whatsoever. That being said Mrs Harris thank-you anyway for the link although it was not necessary. My son was born at 30 wks therefore he did not have the time to store iron necessary in utero as most full term babies due. Yes he was tested and yes his blood test results showed he is severly anemic. I was simply asking if there were any mom's out there who's baby had to have these supplements and if they found a way that there child took it more easily.

My apologies. I had accidentally gone to a jan playroom post thinking I was in february playroom.

I'll be sure and refrain from that error in the future.
