So what's baby getting for his or her daddy?

I give DH stuff from them all the time so tomorrow I'm giving hims a drawing of Cthulhu. =) Since my dad has everything else, he is getting angel footprints.

Edit: all done! Here is the original blog for the angel foot print idea. Angels

Drawing of Cthulhu changed to handprint Cthulus:

And the angel footprints for my dad:

I am so excited that I am getting a bit more time to do things like this lately. Need to dive in while I have the time, use up my supplies so we can easily move in a couple years. =D

Those foot prints are soooo cute; I'd love to do that with dd! Can you give the link?

DH is getting a kindle...which I actually already gave to him a couple weeks ago Fathers day in Germany is the Thursday following Mother's day (which I think is pretty lame btw..so close together and on a Thursday?!)

Haven't gotten my dad anything...living so far away it'd probably cost as much to ship whatever I got him as the present itself would cost.

Even though DH did nothing for me for Mothers' Day (because, he said, I'm not HIS mother), Robby got him a pair of Lucky brand jeans (something he's always wanted but never wanted to throw out all that dough for a brand) and a nice card. We also let him sleep in, and made a nice breakfast for him. I might bake a cake this afternoon. I thought maybe I can teach by example (and at the very least, make him feel super guilty, lol).

Our anniversary was the 14th and I got him a grill as a anniversary/father's day gift. I got him a card and a daddy and me picture frame with a pic of them from Claire. I also cooked him a big breakfast.

Jenny, I hope it makes him feel super guilty!

^ Thanks! I think it's working. If he doesn't do anything next year, I'm going to punish him for 6 months, lol.

See I have never understood this line of thought [only the children do something] isn't it to celebrate all mothers and fathers? Regardless if they are yours?

^ I think so, Bailey. I mean, this is our most important job - being parents. And it's mostly thankless. So it shouldn't hurt anybody to celebrate their spouse's special day and special role in life. I didn't ask for jewelry or anything over the top -- I just wanted to feel special and a little celebrated.

Believe it or not, it's his mom that has passed on this way of thinking; his dad is the one who buys the family birthday cards and keeps up with their special days. Mom is just not that into it.

Holy crap. I'm 30 now so I don't expect much for my birthday & Valentine's(close together so celebrated together), and I don't expect a bunch for Christmas. Dinner and a movie usually has me set for most special occasions. But if my husband DARED to not celebrate my first mother's day, especially when I spent 9 months with hyperemesis, I would have been livid.
