Evan has had his first fever today, up to 101F. I thought he'd sleep more because of it, but he's barely slept at all today! I hope he sleeps well tonight. I've been nursing him every two hours all day and we've given him Tylenol. I don't think there's anything else to do, since it's not a high fever and he's pretty much his normal self otherwise...? Maybe he's teething?
101 seems a little high for a teething fever, but that's not something I'd concern myself about. Sounds like he might be fighting a little something off. Winter had one yesterday that was 101.6 on her forehead. Shots. Alice still gets random fevers at 4. They'll stay for a few day, and she has no other symptoms of any illness.
I would worry if it lasts for several days at this age or if it starts creeping up over 102. They wouldn't mind if you called pediatrics at your hospital either. Nurses are always ready to answer questions. I called yesterday because Alice never ran fevers with shots. I got a predictable answer: Tylenol every 4 hours.
