Other half, Steve has gout

So far no improvement with anti-inflammatories.

He can't really walk and won't stop voicing how sore it is.

Feel better soon Steve! I can't even imagine. Did they give him anything else for bad days like today?

On a lighter note, I really feel the need to call him scuba Steve. Can I call him scuba Steve? I hope you don't take offense to that.

Just T3s, he has till Wed to show some improvement. But so far these new anti-inflammatories they gave him today haven't helped at all.

*lurking* from the Nov 2012 board.

My DH has gout. It is so painful, Im sure T3 isnt going to touch the pain especially if it (& it probably will) gets worse. My DH drinks cherry concentrate, apple cider vinegar; soaks infected site in vinegar and Epsom salt and wraps it with a castor oil and heat pack. The flare-ups lasts (minimal) about 3wks, and thats if he stays on top of it right when it starts. He has had an attack for 5m before. You may want your DH check into allpurenol (not sure if thats the correct spelling).

Im sure you know, but gout is a build up of uric acid. Im sure your DH probably has trigger foods. For my DH its, soda. He always starts drinking soda in the summer when it gets hot and EVERY summer, about 3m after he starts drinking soda he has a gout attack.

Good luck to you and your hubby. If you need any advise or support, feel free to PM me.

Allopurinol is an anti- gout medication that helps decrease buildup of Uric acid. It's way painful, sorry Steve!
