They're supposed to pose a safety risk in the car but if it's something my child was interested in, I'd take it.

Take it! In my van I have a flip down mirror where my sunglasses go so I can see in the back, so I will be able to use that and see in the mirror so I can see baby :-)

If somebody gives me one, I'll take it, but otherwise I'll probably leave it. One of those things that would be nice to have but not something I'll be upset without.

Take it- I had you with Hannah and loved it... especially when your driving by yourself...

BTW did anyone else notice that the baby is not sitting in the middle of the car... talk about safety issues....

I had one that had a remote that went up front that turned on a light for when it was dark. I have never seen one with the image as clear as the one in the pic above is claiming it has. I am not sure if I will use one this time or not.

I already have one that is soft. If you get the soft ones that are extremely lightweight (basically the fake mirrors that are just a thin sheet of stuff on cardboard practically) that have a system to secure it to the headrest, they are not considered a safety risk. Neither is sticking baby on the sides instead of the middle SafER in the middle but not UNsafe on the side. The vast majority of cars don't have latch in the middle and the outer ones can't be borrowed unless permitted, and sometimes people have an easier time installing with latch and without the hump in the middle. Pretty sure that was a joke anyways. PS I also want one of those rear view mirror attachments that gives you a better baby view.

Middle is SAFER, but a lot of cars ( Mine included) only have LATCH on the sides... and having the seat installed with LATCH is much safer than the seatbelt in the middle...

Latch is the same as a seatbelt in terms of safety. Latch is just supposed to be "easier" for parents to use, but has weight limits that have to be worried about, unlike the seatbelt. Basically, good seatbelt install = good latch install. Neither is better unless one gives you a tighter install. For those that have three munchkins or more and have to do a 3 across the backseat, seatbelt is required almost to get the two outboard seats offset as much as possible to fit the middle seat in, also with seatbelt unless the seat and the car randomly allowed unequal spacing and latch borrowing. Center vs outboard is really only a big consideration for those with a front facing kiddo and a rearfacer. Front facer goes in the center as they are more vulnerable than the rearfacer. If you have two rearfacers, the youngest tries to go to the center but if it isn't doable, it isn't a big deal.

Oh i got an eddie baur flexible soft mirror at Target. extremely lightweight as it is literally cardboard with fake mirror paper on it lol. Stuff with toys and lights and batteries and such usually weighs too much.

I'd take it if I find it at a garage sale or someone gives it to me! I had one with Jack and I loved it for the most part, but it kept getting pushed to the wrong alignment and was really bothersome in that aspect. I wish I had one now though. Since my daughter is still rear facing, I have to rely on my son to tell me if she is asleep or not.

Take it, we had one with Joe and Andrew that lit up and played music. I loved being able to see them and the lights and music calmed them in the car.
