Today was another short, painless doctor visit. I've been going every other week ever since my first visit.
Weight (down 2 lbs from pre pregnancy weight still). BP (135/73, pretty typical for me). Urine sample.
The doctor came in and we chatted about symptoms and such. He quickly found Ellie, lying in her usual breech position, heart beating strongly.
Then he tells me that there were traces of protein in my urine this time. Nothing major, could have been from what I ate in the past 24 hours. However, since I have just about reached viability, and this is the time when pre-eclampsia can set in... he wants me to start coming in weekly to check my bp and urine.
I'm happy that he's a very proactive doctor, and is staying on top of things, but I don't like the thought of weekly visits, or the stress of WHY I'm having weekly visits.
Aww man that sucks. I have been doing weekly appointments the last month and I have hated it. I have 3 kids that I have to either find a sitter for or drag them with me. Todays appointment they told me that I could start go every 2 weeks instead and I am thrilled. They told me it would remain this way until 32 weeks then I will have to go back to weekly.
Sending you some prayers that pre-e stays away and your BP stays low. I had the same issue with my first pregnancy! It wasn't much fun. Ended up on bed rest the last 6 weeks of pregnancy then they enduced at 37 weeks because my BP was just too high. I was happy to make it that far. Good luck!
Praying your BP & protein levels stay low... Weekly visits do stink, but at least you know you'll be seeing the dr in case you have questions. I find it to be a mixed blessing- I've been going weekly since 16 weeks & I hate having to go, but it's so reassuring sometimes. Now, it gets me out of the house, so I look forward to it.
Anyway, just wanted you to know I'll be praying for you
