Our town tested positive for mosquitos with triple E and they are spraying tonight and tomorrow night. They have flown over my house 3 times already tonight, and i kept meaning to call the health dept to see what precautions i would need to take if any because of pregnancy... It totally slipped my mind today and i never called... Now i'm concerned as we had windows open but they are closed now, but DH put the a/c's on. Does anyone know if i breathe this in if it is safe for the baby? I'm obviously not going outside but just concerned a little bit about the a/c bringing in some....

I know nothing about it, but I would assume as long as you aren't exposed to the chemical for long periods of time you are probably okay to have your air on or windows open. I don't know, though. Definitely make sure you call tomorrow!

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't be going outside or having windows open. I did read on Pinterest to keep a fabric softener sheet with you so mosquitoes won't bug you!

We had spaying here for west Nile. The town called everyone beforehand and asked for pets and pregnant women to stay indoors for an hour after the spraying.
I don't know if it's the same chemicals though, that was 2 years ago.

I don't know, I would think if there was any danger they would contact the residents, but it doesn't sound safe to me either.

Our town sprays 3 or 4 times a year, because they are usually pretty bad (not this year, because of the drought!)

When I hear the truck coming down the street, I usually run and shut up all the windows, and try to get my kitty inside. I can't imagine that whatever they're spray would be safe for us to breathe in. I open the windows back up after 15 minutes or so... not sure if that's long enough, but at least it's better than getting the full concentrated spray.

Eastern equine encephalitis virus (EEE) - it is carried by mosquitos like the west nile virus. And it is like 50% fatal in the cases around this area..... If you survive the virus, you will have severe neurological damage. This was taken from the Boston Herald newspaper....
