I'm not completely fluent in American yet over here, let alone another language. lol I can count to 20 in both French and Spanish, and due to many years of watching subtitled anime, I can translate a lot of Japanese.
I don't know if I have any other big life changing events. Big ones like marriage or accepting Jesus, but life was pretty normal after. The only life changing event I can think of is the birth of my first child. With the birth of my second, it had felt like she had always been here.
Halloween!!!! I love Halloween! It's nothing but fun. You get to dress up, no worries about gifts, you go to parties, get to go on hay rides... Best holiday ever. Close second is Christmas Eve. So much excitement. After Christmas morning, the fun is kind of over.
Are you fluent in a foreign language? I'm pretty fluent in Spanish, but it's been a couple of years since I got to use it every day, so I'm starting to lose some of it.
Besides having your child(ren), what is one event that changed your life? Some years back, I got to spend three months in Guyana, S. America, mostly volunteering in an orphanage. Everything about that experience changed me. I LOVED it!!
Are you fluent in a foreign language? Not fluent, but I'm proficient enough in Japanese to speak it with my children.
Besides having your child(ren), what is one event that changed your life? Hmmm...probably a high school trip to Europe. It sparked my love for international travel and other cultures, and I ended up moving to Japan for a couple of years because I loved being overseas.
What is your favorite holiday? Christmas because it means at least a week-long vacation from work. LOL
I guess I would call myself proficient in German. I think its a hard language to learn because of the articles (der, die, das, as in das Mädchen = the girl ). There are no rules for them; they have to be memorized.
Probably the biggest event that changed my life, aside from DD's birth, would be the death of my mother. Like with most adversities in life, I do believe it has made me stronger.
My fav. holiday is Christmas, although sadly it's becoming less so. I hope that I'll learn to love it again now that we have a LO to celebrate with.
Are you fluent in a foreign language? No. But I know enough Spanish to get me in trouble. =P lol
Besides having your child(ren), what is one event that changed your life? My best friend died. We had been best friends since we were 5 years old. I still have not recovered from that and it will be 4 years in Sept.
What is your favorite holiday? 4th of July! and Thanksgiving
