This might be related to my post yesterday, but I'm not sure so I started a new one.

As I mentioned yesterday, I ate a deli meat sandwich for lunch and was worried afterwards because of listeria.

This morning I had a BM and it was very loose and bright green (sorry TMI). I don't feel sick otherwise but that is definitely not normal for me. I put in a call to the nurse at my doctor's office but I haven't heard anything back yet. This honestly has me scared to death. I would never forgive myself if I hurt my baby by just eating a sandwich.

Please pray that everything is fine and that I will hear back from the nurse soon.

Green poop, usually just means your small intestine didn't do it's job fully (usually did it too quickly).
If you haven't eaten luncheon meat in a long time, your intestines probably were just shocked.
You can also heat the meat in the future to ease your mind on the listeria risk.

I get green poop all the time, usually I can tell when, as, I get a specific feeling kind of cramp.

I just talked to the nurse. She said I shouldn't worry about deli meats at all and they don't even typically recommend patients to avoid them (??). But anyway, she said that the green stool could be caused from eating purple foods and I did eat 2 bright purple plums last night. That pretty much explains everything. I just wish I didn't have to worry so much.

Glad you got a response! I was actually going to say that I've been eating more deli meat than normal lately & I haven't had issues... I think the risks are so minimal nowadays they don't worry as much...

Glad she eased your mind. I'm sure all is totally fine.

One thing that eases my mind, is knowing that there are people who use drugs and drink while pregnant and have healthy children....then there are others that do everything by the book, and there's a problem. The bottom line, if something bad is going to happen, you can't necessarily prevent it. I would just try to relax and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.

its so hard not to worry about small differences because you never now, for example i felt off yesterday, i wasn't sure what it was i just didn't feel like myself, i called out of work and went to the drs, and i have a uti with blood in my urine. i guess i have learned to trust my body, if its something new i cant explain, im calling my doctor lol better safe than sorry, and it doesn't help that this is my first pregnancy so almost everything is new lol

My doctor didn't even mention to me to stay away from deli meats. Although, I've been using the pregnancy listeria excuse so I don't have to eat them.... I'm not the biggest fan of cold cuts and lately it seems thats all people around me want to eat!
