Im not sure if its me, but I don't find the picture cute and would never take a picture like that and especially post it on Facebook. There are too many crazy people out there and god only knows what they may do with a picture like this.

Here is the article.

Never should have been posted. 1- her shirt is up. 2- People are weird and some could take that as sexual. We all know that the kids dont and that bfing isn't sexual but some perve could see a photo like that and turn it into a fantasy. I won't even post a photo of my dd if her underwear is showing. Shes 5 and I dont want her viewed I any way other than a 5 year old should be. I would be less inclined to think this inappropriate I she were bfing her doll but still not appropriate for fb. At 5 she needs to begin to understand that her chest is a private area and not for flashing around. Again too many crazies out there. And kids don't understand why adults feel the way they do and they should not understand that yet. What they should understand is that mom and dad protect them. And sexual exploitation is something to be protected from. now should she have been banned? Probably not but shame on the mom for thinking that that picture was for public viewing.

I'm with FB on this. Should never have been posted on the internet. And it's ridiculous that they're bringing up the whole breastfeeding issue again in regards to the picture. I'm getting sick of them making everything into a big breastfeeding issue. Get over it already.

Thats not a BF picture. That is just weird and just because she may think its cute, doesnt mean other people will understand it, much less think its ok. WTG facebook.

Big BFing advocate and totally have taken a pic of my oldest nursing her dolls or pretending to pump (when she was 2) and I totally posted them on FB, but I would definitely not have even taken this pic, let alone posted it. Do I think it's a sick picture? No. But I do think it's inappropriate and the first thing I would have done if I had walked in and saw that was make them stop.

I don't think it's a big deal the big sis is pretending to nurse her little sis. There isn't anything sexual about bf'ing, and anyone who thinks there is, is a moron. I can see how some people would be confused by the picture, not to mention, there are so many creeps and pervs out there. Can you imagine the internet circulation this picture would get from all the nasty people out there?!

Bottom line is, it's a normal picture for your own family, but it shouldn't be posted online.

Exactly. I'm not down on the mom for taking the picture although honestly, I probably wouldn't have taken it (maybe one of her nursing a dolly or something, but this looks more like something that would happen at drunken frat party). Having it for herself as a cute memory, fine. Totally up to her discretion what she thinks about the picture. But posting it online where it can be taken in any way possible was a dumb move on her part. And unfortunately, I'm sure with the exposure it has now gotten, it's probably already made it's way to the child porn circuit.

It is a wierd photo for facebook as it can be taken out of context. People seem to forget the internet isn't private and family photos that you would show relatives or friends at home don't always translate well to the rest of the world. There is something about posting any photo online that seems to immediately make others judge it in a way you never would if looking at a hardcopy from a friend.

I agree that should never have been posted. Just like I'm surprised when people post bathtub pics of their kids. One of my friends even made her kids' bathtub pic her profile pic! It's so easy to share Facebook photos and have them end up public that I think nothing should be posted that you would be upset of it were made public by someone else. I learned the hard way that you cannot trust the way people behave on the Internet, even when you think they are trustworthy.

this is actually a friend of mine's best friend.... i totally agree with facebook removing the image, but not banning her. it is a very innappropriate imagine IMO and it has NOTHING to do with breastfeeding as to why she got "introuble" for it.. it's to do with the inappropriateness of these children in the image out on the open internet for pedophiles to get a hold of..

i know the mother is very upset and sees absolutely nothing wrong with it, and that worries me for her children.... if its at home, fine.. im not in approval with taking a picture of it, let alone putting it on public access for sickos to get ahold of.

here is exactly what i posted to my friend's post when she posted about it (the friend who is good friends with the mom banned from FB)

Quote:
I personally agree with removing the image. Its not about breastfeeding IMO.. Its about the image itself.. Pedophiles arent going to give a shiz about a mom breastfeeding her child but they will jump on an image of 2 young girls playing with eachother though we know its all in fun.. Thats just pedo bait IMO.... Was the 5 year old clothed?!
if not, a 5 year olds image shouldnt be posted publically with her topless.. You woukdnt take your 5 year old daughter out grocery shopping topless you wouldnt post pictures of it either.. we do not live in a world where its all innocence.. We have some real sick people out there and we have to protect our children from them... My BOYS never go outside in just underwear even to play in sprinklers because i dont know what kind of sick person is watching.. It can still happen when they are all clothed but having them walking around nude or in undies is bait for a pedo...

I just dont believe this had anything to do with breastfeeding it was about the well being of the children and protecting them... They even stated exactly their opinion, it had nothing to do with breastfeeding

I agree with it being taken down also just because of the image it puts out there, NOT because of the BFing thing and NOT because I think the children weren't being innocent.

That being said, my siggy is of my 18month old's cute baby booty. Do I think that I should remove it.... not really. If someone is offended by it I will though. I just think it's tasteful and cute

Honestly... its a weird picture. But, I have seen weirder and way more inappropriate things posted on FB. While I agree that the mom shouldn't have posted it to begin with, I think FB went one step too far in banning her.

You don't get banned for one report on facebook. She got banned because a number of people reported her. & it also depends on what the people said when they reported her. People need to understand there is more going on then just one person's decision on banning. It's only temporary and she will be able to get back on. Usually if a picture is inappropriate you can ask FB to send the user a message asking them to take it down. If the message is not responded to, or ignored then further actions will be taken.

I, too, wonder if there is more to the story than just being banned specifically for the image. I don't think she should have been banned, no matter how long, just for the image itself.

FB is known for banning LOTS of women for clothed bfing pics that show NO nipple at all...so I'm not surprised she is banned. THere are lots of fb pages about these women that have been banned for a certain period of time.

I think the picture is innocent and doesn't portray bfing badly at all, but I agree I wouldn't have taken it or posted it. They should have just removed it and not banned her.

Pretty much just echoing what was already said... nothing sexual about it, but not something that I'd post publicly with the way the world is these days.

What disturbs me is that this picture, while removed from facebook, is now all over the internet in a big way. Which is so much worse.
Taking the picture is one thing, I think it's kinda cute and sweet. Showing a few close friends a print of it? Fine. Posting it online? Not fine.
