This has been ongoing for the last week or so. She keeps popping off and staring around, or just fussing. But with my right side, she's happy as a clam..

Is she weaning herself? I can't tell....

I have more than enough milk (pumping nets me about 5oz), but I don't know what her deal is....

Thoughts?

Amelia is the same, I have to nurse her on the right first and get her pretty content before I pop her on the left, for me it's the different shape of my nipple on the left I think. That side has less milk but I don't think it's drying up completely if that makes sense, maybe try satisfying her on the side she takes and then switch when her immediate hunger has been satisfied!

She's not weaning for sure, she probably just prefers your other side. I'd start her there like the OP said and then switch.

it might be that her neck bugs her when she turns her head that way. Have you tried football holding her or laying down while nursing on that side? does it change how she reacts to it?

That's weird coz she's been nursing like a champ on the left these last few weeks, and just this last couple of days she's been a pain....

I did try the football hold with her tonight and she took it - I think mostly coz she was half asleep...

On a side note - everytime she nurses on the left side - it feels like teeth, but I can't tell, I just grit my teeth and bear with it..... hopefully it doesn't last long

James would only do football hold on the left for a while. I think it was the very slightly different shape of the nipple on that side, but now he doesn't mind at all. It's funny because the left was dd's preferred side and the right is his preferred side
