We do big breakfasts on Sundays too. We're about to start no tv Tuesdays. Kids open 1 gift (always Christmas pj's) on Christmas Eve. We always do cinnamon rolls for Christmas breakfast. Each kiddo has spent their first 4th of July at the Peabody in Orlando.
we go swimming every saturday. there's an indoor pool that stays open year round so we can do it every saturday. the boys always ask if it's saturday. I don't like taking the kids alone as one of my biggest fears is one of my kids drowning. it's overwhelming to do it alone
Well, since it was only DH and I - I made it a standing rule that we eat dinner together everyday - no electronics during dinner... Oh and I will only call him 3 times to the dinner table, or he can go hungry
Now with LO, it's a little hard to schedule dinner, but I can't wait till she gets to eat solids coz we can then have her at the dinner table!! Same deal...
Well, Wednesday nights my hubby games, that is usually pizza night here at the house. Thursday nights I have my weight loss group, so we eat late that night as a couple, after the kids go to bed.
Saturday mornings is eggs, bacon and usually orange rolls or waffles.
Thanksgiving is a huge breakfast with bacon, eggs and MUFFINS (I love them but we don't eat them much). Thanksgiving meal is always turkey tacos with sopapillas as dessert. We do the big turkey/ham dinner for Christmas.
Christmas eve is worship and then the kids get to open their pajama gift. Christmas morning, they can open their Santa gift (left in their room, under their Christmas tree) and then they get to open one toy present every hour or so, the rest of the day. It takes them all day, they like it.
When I was a kid, we got to open a present on Christmas Eve too. It was always a small toy or game/puzzle to keep us distracted until bed time. I should start doing that again and I like the pajama idea too. I know a bunch of people that do that.
