Probably a fruit. I need to stop being a slacker and make some of these things while they are in season. I have no idea how much to make though.

I think applesauce, bananas or butternut squash. Those are the first three things I'm gonna make at least.

skipping cereal because that crap is nasty. i won't feed my kids anything I won't eat myself. I'll start her on veggies because I've heard (not sure where... random old wive's tale?) that giving them fruit first will make them always prefer fruit and doom them for eating veggies. not sure how true that is, but I do veggies first anyways, lol

I've read that too, but my baby food book says that breastfed babies are already inclined to like sweet things because breastmilk is incredibly sweet. Makes sense to me. I don't think it matters though in the long run what is started first.

My babies always LOVE the cereal... Matthew couldn't get enough last night. But is has the familiar taste of breast milk so he ate it up fast! I have also heard to start with veggies before fruit.
