By 2 points Cut off was 134, I got a 136, so she tested it again and it was 140. I go back in 3 weeks for the 3 hour test and I am nervous . I am thinking of doing a low carb diet for the next 3 weeks anyways and completely cutting out any eating out. I've never failed the test and I'm terrified of having GD and having a huge baby

Sorry you failed!! Hopefully since it was only a few points too high you will pass the 3 hr! Just because you have GD does not mean you will have a big baby. I have had GD with 2 of my pregnancies. Those babies were born weighing 8lbs 7oz and 6lbs 2oz. As long as you keep it under control you will be fine. But hopefully you pass and don't have to even worry about it!!

I'm sorry you failed! Maybe it was a fluke and you will pass the 3 hour.

Sorry you failed it! I would probably not go overboard on the low carb thing between now and the 3 hour because if you really do have GD, you want to know. And I second that having GD doesn't necessarily mean you will have a big baby. If you eat right and follow the correct diet, you should be fine (although that can be tough when pregnant and getting cravings). I had GD with my first and he only weighed 6lbs 6oz at birth. My doctor was surprised, but my family tends to have smaller babies.

Sorry you failed it. I find it weird that different places have different cut offs. I had mine today and was told that the cut of was 140. If that had been your cutoff you would have passed. I agree with the others though, I wouldn't go crazy about cutting out the carbs as you would want to know if you actually have it or not so that if you have it you can be more conscious about your diet but if you pass the test because you went carb free but plan to go back to a carb loaded diet after the test then you could be masking your real GD.

That stinks! I failed my first, but I passed my second without changing anything. Hoping it goes well!

We don't seem to be having a good track record here with these 1 hour GD tests! Hope you pass the 3 hours one with no problems!

Thanks ladies It's good to hear that GD babies aren't always bigger. I don't really know much about GD except that you have to go on a special diet and it usually results in bigger babies. I'm not going to go all crazy on the diet changes, but not eating out is a really good start. I've been doing too much of that lately and I'm sure it's not helping at all, lol. Hoping I pass the 3 hour test!

Sorry you failed it. Hopefully you pass the 3 hr test.

Like said above if you end up having gd and it stays under control your baby shouldnt be large.

I've failed the one hour before and passed the 3 hour. That was my second pregnancy.

I mostly hope I don't fail my one hour this time because I live 1.5 hours from the midwife. I can't imagine spending 6+ hours taking the GTT if I fail the first one.

my current doctor's office does not even do the one hour test anymore. She said they were having so many people fail the one hour, who did not end up having GD (which is exactly what happened to me in my 1st pregnancy), that they now have everyone do a two-hour test right off the bat.
