YAY! I bought a used Medela Lactina Select, a rental grade, that was used privately. I bought it off of craigslist and just met the lady at McDonald's down the road. Plugged it in and it works great! I paid $250 which is great for one not rented. They are $8-900 new, $375 refurbished on ebay, and run around $250-300 not refurbished and previously rented on ebay. I got a good deal and I'm excited! You can actually call in the number on the pump and confirm that it has not been a rental.

I'm so happy to be getting prepared for this now. I HAVE to stop spending for now though...I'm going to be so broke! lol It sucks because I have all of my newborn dipes picked out and in my cart on green mountain diapers and it would be SO easy to just enter my bank info. lol

I will still need the parts for the pump and will get one set at the hospital when I deliver. I'll need probably one more set for back-up...at least membranes as those wear out easy. I also may get another back-up pump in case it were to break down for some reason or if I want to leave this at work so I don't have to carry back and forth every day. We will see. SO GEEKED!

Anyone else have one or getting one soon? So recommend this pump! I'll be able to sell it for what I paid or dang close so it's an awesome deal and it's still a Medela!

Sorry this one is darker...and you can see my leg lol

Oh, great find! That is pretty exciting!!

I have an Ameda (I think that's the brand). It's a dual pump and a closed system which was important for me as I'm lazy.

I'm really trying to break up the purchases over time because I know I will go crazy and then keep going crazy, ya know? We've only bought 15 or so outfits and that's over 5 weeks period. But...as it gets closer, it's going to get harder. I know the fabric for the room is going to be a few hundred dollars.

Oh, and cloth dipes!?! I could spend sooooo much even though I have a great stash. They are boy dipes but I don't care. DH want's to get a few girly covers so I'll gladly oblige!

Anna-If you are going for the rental grade and have the cash to swing it up front, I'd definately recommend just buying a used one and selling it afterward. I have done it before and it's cost me nothing! Renting can be SO expensive! I know what you mean about buying for him...I just barely bought my first thing(though I can't stop now!)

Christina-I had an Ameda Purely Yours with dd#2 and it worked awesome! I gave it to someone needy and now have to keep getting them...especially since so far between and not expecting this one. hehe I have never cloth diapered before so I am trying to learn everything just now. I can either see hating it or it becoming an obsession that I will end up spending a fortune on. Especially with the excuse that "I can sell them when we're done." lol So HARD to pace yourself with this baby stuff!

I still have my Medela pump from Landon. I'll have to check what kind of replacement parts it needs.

I don't know much about breast pumps at all. I am still not sure what kind to get. I think I am going to ask my SIL about what she thinks.
It has been so hard for me to hold back but DH has been really nice letting me get "1 thing" for Zoey when we go out. I still need sooo much!! But MIL insists that we wait for the baby shower.

Landonsmom-Awesome that you still have yours. I would think just new tubing would be fine(to keep old molding away) and maybe the white membranes which you can buy in a pack of 6 or so for not too much.

Burn-Most people swear by anything Medela. The Ameda/evenflo Purely Yours(not other evenflo!) is an awesome pump also but getting parts can be trickier as most carry Medela only unless you go to a Lactation store maybe. I never had to replace parts anyway though and I pumped full-time with mine. The only question would really be how much will you pump. If you are just looking to take some off the top when the baby sleeps through a feeding or if you want to drink one night and pump it off then a handheld Avent Isis or something like it may do the trick for you. If you are going to have more babies or plan to pump alot, any double-electric Medela or the Ameda PY is probably your best bet. I'd just get one of those myself but I'm not having more kids and I can recover the full cost this way when I am done. If you have questions, there are alot of experts on here I am sure...Alot of us have F/T pumped multiple kids with many types of pumps.
