I am still nursing..I pump during the day and nurse exclusively the rest of the time when I am at home. The past two days I'm starting to get sharp shooting pains deep in my right breast...only way I can explain it is through the ducts it isn't anywhere around the nipple its deep in my breast tissue. Sometimes its random stabbing pains and now its hurting even when he nurses. It's only the right breast.

What could this be?

Stabbing pain sounds like yeast to me. Does he have white patches in his mouth? Even if not, I'd treat for yeast. Try gentian violet from the drugstore on your nipple and his mouth (yes it will stain his mouth purple). Or grapefruit seed extract. Also eliminate all sugars from your diet.
