If your LO has started solids, what was the first food you gave him/her? How did he/she react? What is his/her favorite food?

For those who haven't started solids, when do you plan on starting? What do you want to give your LO first?

We started solids at 4 months with Oatmeal and he liked it! And he just loves to eat so I don't know what his favorite is. There hasn't been anything he refuses to eat so far. We tried Mango's for the first time yesterday and he really enjoyed them (and so did I!)

We started with rice cereal because the doctor told us to and I'm a newbie mom. Then we did sweet potatoes (LOVE!), peas (ok), avocado (caused constipation and a big break away from solids til that got cleared up), apples (LOVE!). We are doing pears this week, I'm sure he'll enjoy them. :-)

We started Evan at 4 months on bananas. He LOVES sweet potatoes and likes bananas, apples, carrots, and prunes. Doesn't seem to be a big peach or peas fan yet, though he will eat them. He gets one 2.5-oz container of baby food per day, but I think we'll have to do twice a day soon.

We have not started. I wanted always wanted to wait until she was 6 months (which she will be in a week) but I'm still not sure she's 100% ready. I'll reevaluate around 7 months. We're going to do baby led weaning and will probably start with a hunk of avocado.

We actually tried this at first too but I got scared she'd choke. :/ She bit off a pretty big chunk of banana, so for now we're not doing BLW. The only thing we let her eat herself are overcooked broccoli florets because the top part sloughs off in her mouth (I don't let her eat the stem).

We originally wanted to wait until 6 months, but she was showing all the signs of being ready. She's hitting her other milestones early and I figure it's not like her body looks at the calendar at 6 months and then decides it can handle solids all of a sudden. I'm glad we started because she looooves her food! Has yet to spit anything out! She tolerates all kinds of textures so we don't usually make baby food. The first food she had was technically oatmeal but she only had a bite, after that we tried banana (which she loves). Her favorites seem to be bananas, peas, cheese and whole wheat pasta.

We just started solids (a week before she turned 6 months). I started with squash and sweet potatoes. This week we are trying out green beans and apple sauce. And she is eating bananas in the mesh feeder.

I'm a bit nervous about the BLW too. Two of my friends did it with their babies and swear that it will be fine but I am still nervous about her choking. I just ordered Gill Rapley's book and hopefully that will help me make a more confident decision.

I started our little girl on rice cereal and a few days later oatmeal at 4 months.... was planning on waiting until later, but had to earlier to get some sleep at night. .

I stuck with cereal until 5 months.... so far we've had sweet potatoes (like after a few bites) bananas out of the mesh feeder (Love! but had to stop cause it gave her tummy cramps/gas) Pears (like .....but Love! frozen in a tiny amount in an ice cube tray and fed out of the mesh feeder.... AWESOME idea... makes her happy in a cranky mood) We also Love! peaches, and Like butternut squash I'm introducing slowly in little quantities and one at a time to double check for reactions.

We love eating off a spoon and open our mouth like a bird. If she's super hungry she attacks the spoon!

I started at 6 months with rhydian. He was probably ready at 4. We had oatmeal cereal first and then squash. He had green beans for the first time today and loved them. (Like his mummy Lol) hes loved everything so far. I'm going to introduce veggies first then fruit because his daddy has a fruit allergy.

We started with rice cereal by spoon at 2months, puree's pears at 3months. Now he loves bananas, pears, carrots, sweet potatoes. He love apples alot but it made him constipated so we wont be giving that again anytime soon,He hates peas with a passion. I've tried squash but some red bump came after that so idk. Peaches seem to make him constipated as well.
