I didn't have bad heartburn, so I can't really say for myself. I have a close friend that has had 2 babies...both complete baldies (For a really long time, actually.) and she had HORRIBLE heartburn.

Not true at all. With Elijah I was on a Rx heartburn medication and he just had his first haircut this weekend and he is 3 1/2.

I think it depends on the person.

With my first, I had a lot of really bad heartburn at the end of my pregnancy. She was born with a TON of hair, and still has a ton of hair for her age.

With my second, I didnt have any heartburn at the end, and she was born bald as can be. She still has very little hair at 20 mos (as you can see in my siggy), it's 1cm-1in long. It's been crazy how different they have been! I cant even put a clip in Clara's hair yet, lol.

I have read that I think Johns Hopkins did a study on this a few years ago and found out that it was in fact true that heartburn = hair. Not all the time, obviously, but there is some truth to it!

OWT--I have had HORRID HB with every baby, especially in the last half of the pregnancies. First baby, tiny bit of hair, lost it all and didn't grow for years! Still grows slow but it is thick. Second baby, tons of long black hair...like a troll doll and SO cute! She still has hair to her butt and it's fairly thick. Third baby, medium amount of hair, black and curly, lost it all and grew RED curly and then it changed to blonde curly and still is that way but not too fast growing or thick. You just never can tell really.

What are you hoping for?

I wanted my first to be a baldy and then after years of no hair I wanted alot on my second...both came to be. Last was up in the air, didn't care either way and it was sort of in between. I think I want another hairball troll baby

I spit fire with both boys and they were born bald as the day is long. I remember with Austin being excited the first time there was enough hair that the wind caught it a little. And I'm pretty sure he was almost two! LOL. Matthew had more, but not much.

I recently read an article about a study done at John Hopkins to prove this was a pregnancy myth, but the results did show a corellation between heartburn and the amount of baby's hair. But I'm sure there are plenty of women with bald babies who have terrible heartburn. With everything getting pushed around inside us, heartburn seems likely enough for any one of us. I never had heartburn with my first two and they were both bald. I have terrible hearburn this time, so I'll have to wait and see if we have hair!

I believe that is a old wives tale!

In my case, I had one baldie and two babies with quite a bit of hair - never had heartburn.
