Hi gals! I am not a member of this DDC but, I found these codes and thought I would pass it along. You pay shipping only - $12 per item. You can apply the code to the gift sets, I believe it is $50 off. I ordered a Whole Caboodle and a separate carseat cover (in two transactions so I could use the code both times!), a sling and a nursing. My mama always said, "Be prepared!" and I was a Girl Scout!

Free Nursing Cover or 3-piece Gift Set for $5
Udder Covers
promo code fblove

Free Carseat Cover or "The Whole Caboodle" Gift Set for $29.95
Carseat Canopy
promo code fblove or usmag31

Free Sling or 3-piece Gift Set for $5
Seven
promo code usm31

While this is awesome and I may order some stuff, the caraway cover is aftermarket and should NOT be used. They're not crash tested and who know if they safe to use. Not trying to put a damper on anyone because, like I said, this is awesome- but I personally would avoid anything added to a carseat.

I only got the canopy that covers the top of the seat, nothing that comes near the baby. It doesn't void any warranties.

i thought the car seat cover is basically just to put a cover over the baby while in the carrier....instead of using a blanket or something to block sun, wind, etc. Not sure how it could be unsafe.

Thought about doing that too or buying the kit for separate carrier only. Dunno...

It's when you use the "whole caboodle" that it's unsafe because it messes with belts and could be bad in a fire etc.

ah, i see. i would think that the belts and function of the seat should still work but i would be more interested in just the canopy part as i would otherwise just use a blanket or something to block wind and sun.

Yeah they said it can make it appear to be coming from below the shoulders but it's coming from higher up, plus the padding can scrunch in a crash so all blankets and puffy suits within the belts can cause an issue. Any blankets etc on top of belts would be ok I'd think as long as flame retardant. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm paraphrasing.

Yep the carseat whole caboodle thing actually has a part that goes over the entire carseat under the baby that the straps go through so definitely not safe and does void the carseat warranty and is technically illegal in those states that include verbiage of properly secured or properly restrained or as the manufacturer intended. Anything at all that goes between the baby and the straps or the baby and the seat is unsafe. The canopies if they just lay over the top like a blanket aren't an issue. The caboodle has several pieces that are dangerous, the infant insert, the replacement cover, and the replacement canopy.

Blankets on top wouldn't ever be flame retardant so I wouldn't consider it an issue personally. I don't think it is something I would ever leave on in the car so something that isn't attached like simply a blanket might be easier.
