DH is putting together the crib. We've never bought from IKEA before, but apparently the instructions are wordless and just have photos.

When DH was trying to figure out the instructions, he said "This is so confusing! There are several steps 2-8 but only one Step 1. Then we have the little baby, fat baby, then fat baby gets taller! ***"

Most of the furniture in my apartment is from Ikea... I had a *great* time following the pictures. So informative

Glad we're not alone!

He was surprised at how low the crib was, too! His brother is 7 years younger than him, so he remembers his brother's crib and was talking about how is brother fell from a pretty good height.

I said "They aren't allowed to make drop side cribs anymore and I guess short people want to get their babies out of the crib, too."

We had a great time tonight!

Youll have to post a picture of the crib. My mom wants me to get a short crib as all the ones we have looked at have been tall and is afraid the baby will fall out once he learns to stand and climb.

But i love the picture directions they give. Its funny to watch us put things together with them.

Marisa, I'll post one tomorrow that will have some sort of thing to show the height. I'm 5'6" and the railing comes to my waist, so about 3' for the baby to fall once they start trying to climb out.

Haha - yes the instructions crack me up. I have no idea how DH understands them.... they make me want to jump off a balcony.

We always have left over pieces too... I suppose that isn't good.

DH was under strict instructions that under no circumstances was he to have leftover pieces for the crib! I know that is often a problem with things you have to assemble yourself!
