This is the Hensvik crib from IKEA. the light switch is the standard height and you can see this is several inches lower than that. Hope this helps! Baby Bargains rated IKEA cribs with an A rating.

I don't mind it being low. We have low ceilings since out house is a Cape Cod style house, so it's actually perfect for us! I just couldn't see spending a ton of money on a crib when I could find a good one for less. It is a big price difference!

They are a great price and that is why we were looking into them. But for us to travel to Ikea to check it out in person is almost a 2 hr drive. Thank you so much for posting. I will be showing my mom when she gets home.

I like it too! I really wanted to go to Ikea for baby furniture but, it's about 4 hours away for us.

I just ordered online. The closest one to us would be about 2.5 hours round trip. It shipped very quickly, too!

How much was shipping? Shipping for us would have been $299 for a $99 crib!!!

That's ridiculous!!!! I just looked up my receipt and it was $45 shipping, so the total we paid for the crib was $170.

I got the twins Ikea cribs they are as long as a standard crib but a bit narrower, which I liked instead of going with a mini crib. Our nearest Ike is 1.5 hours away but we got a bunch of stuff so the drive was worth it!

$170 is what i spent on ours.. but when i got them, i was already in Sac, and there is an Ikea here.. so it would have only been $200 for me (for 2 cribs), while we paid nearly that for ONE crib.. makes me mad LOL

The total sleeping area is the same, though. I got a Safety 1st mattress, and standard sized crib bedding and it all fits snugly, just as it should.

Tasha, living closer would definitely keep the savings even higher!

Is this also an A rating mattress from Baby Bargains? I lived by that book with my first child but forgot to order a new one this time around.

I didn't look up the mattress, but it is very firm and had great reviews on Amazon.

I have the baby bargains book if anyone wants me to check out something. Safety 1st is not one of the companies they reviewed on mattresses- not that there is anything wrong with this mattress, I just don't have the review.

According to BB, the Best option is NaturePedics Organic Cotton Lightweight mattress; the better option is Moonlights Slumbers Little Dreamer; good option is Sealy Soybeam Foam Core; and the green option is Naturepedic.
