We had Madeline's 2 week check up today. She weighs 5 lbs, 11 oz...so almost back at her birth weight and 19.5 inches.

I talked to the pediatrician again about her severe crying sessions...usually starting at 8pm and they can go all night. Also, she's started violently spitting up the past 24 hours. The Pediatrician thinks it's likely reflux, so we are trying Zantac. If the spewing lasts a few more days, she needs an ultrasound. And, she said the Zantac will need 2-3 days to "kick in." if we can't tell a difference after a week, it's most likely not reflux and we will stop the med.

She slept all day today, which hasn't happened since we brought her home. And last night, she only had 1 screaming fit. She was still up the majority of the night, but at least it wasn't a scream fest.

I really hope we all get some sleep tonight!

I hope you can get some sleep too. I don't know how much I believe that if the Zantac doesn't work that it's not reflux... Different meds work for different babies. Mikayla has been diagnosed with reflux (they gave her an upper GI, so there is no doubt about it) and the Zantac didn't work at all. Not even a little bit. So if it doesn't work and she's still screaming and spitting up, I would push the issue. But that's just me.
