Who is feeding baby solids, like table food? I just started with non-baby food. She's had some avocado, egg yolk, pieces of bread, yogurt, banana, and now a teething biscuit. I found the recipe for that one on pinterest. Get a slice of bread, cut off the crust, spread applesauce and cinnamon on it, roll it up, and nuke it for 60 seconds in 5-7 second increments turning and flipping as you go. Winter loves it.
I'm thinking about cutting out wheat for the children and me. I hear going gluten-free helps with autism. Couldn't hurt, I guess. Only thing we'd lose would be weight and fatigue.
Anyway, what table foods have you introduced to itty bitty?
Just baby food at the mo, I tried some slithers of banana that I held so I could control how much she bit off and at first she gagged and choked and then she just the hang of it. But pretty much just mashed texture baby food here.
I am so happy to be done with purees!! We have done: cottage cheese, yogurt, tofu, scrambled egg, toast, cheddar cheese, provolone cheese, mozzarella cheese, cut-up and smushed pears, cooked and cut-up apples, bananas, baked yam, and he's had baked ziti and minestrone with us at dinner time (just cut up smaller). He's happy and I'm happy! When the doctor told me to go ahead with table food, I went crazy, lol.
Jenny, Winter loves cheese, too. The first time she had it, I had a hunk I was letting her gum. She sucked on that thing so much. Cried when I took it away. This was around the start of purees, though.
Claire has never had purees. We did baby led weaning and just let her go at it when she was 6.5 months. I've only done fruits, veggies and some bread and cheerios so far but I think I'm going to try cheese and noodles too. She's had just about everything under the sun. The only things I've held back from giving her so far are grapes because if I cut them small enough to not be a choking hazard I doubt she could pick them up and beets because I think she would be stained purple lol. So far steamed broccoli and steamed spinach are her faves.
