Well, it was certainly an ordeal to FINALLY get an appointment for the doctor I needed to see. But I finally found someone who would listen and sympathize with my plight and he clipped Rowan's tongue today. I don't think I've talked about it a lot, but nursing has been a bit of a painful experience because of his tight frenulum. But I couldn't find anyone to cut it because he was gaining so well (pretty much because I sat around and any time I leaked, I put him on the boob!). 20 mins after the procedure, I sat down to feed Rowan and it was like night and day. He latched on SO PERFECTLY and I could barely feel a thing. No more sucking sounds, struggling, clicking, pain, etc. And for the first time, he just relaxed and enjoyed it. It is such a relief. I am so thankful for the doctor I met today. When we left the office, I let him know that I was a doula and lactation counselor and that he was about to start getting more business than he could handle. LOL. He was certainly an angel.

That's awesome. I've been curious about Adalyn, because she sometimes clicks when she nurses. But I think it's just her being lazy because she is gaining more then well enough, I am not in pain when she nurses and she can stick her tongue out a good amount and tough the roof of her mouth. I asked her doc about it at her 2mo WCC just because of the clicking, and she said based on the range of motion {since Adalyn wouldnt stick her tongue out for her} she thinks she's fine.

That's awesome Que. And may I also say YOU are awesome for doing what you've had to do to keep Rowan gaining in the meantime.

That's fantastic! Hadley does the clicking thing, but our ped won't do anything about it. She's gaining, slower than my other kids, but gaining so they don't feel it necessary. I'm not so sure.
