The appointment went well. I am almost at my pre-pregnancy weight, so that's good! The bad news is that my fundal measurement is still at 27. It was at 27 last time, at my 29 week appointment, and I haven't changed at all. Midwife isn't extremely worried, but she is worried. Then she tried to tell me not to be worried- Yeah right!
I'm going across town tomorrow to get an ultrasound (the place I normally go doesn't have open appointments tomorrow) so I can it get done before I leave for Las Vegas. (We're going for a week for an auto show thing that DH is SO excited about. I'm just excited to go somewhere!)
So... I'm trying to concentrate on getting things ready for the Baby shower (making cheesecake bites today!) and hopefully that will take my mind off things.
Hey, I'm sorry to pop in, I come by to check on Becky Bozeman (hi Becky!!) -
I was measured ONCE during my pregnancy - that's right - ONCE. And I was really concerned because my belly was very small so I had all these things in my head (is he too small? are his kidneys not working so he's not peeing?! where is my gigantic belly!?!)
I finally asked why they weren't measuring me and my doctor told me that it is just such an inconsistent way to measure - if this kid is high and all spread out, you'll be big, one of my PR members, her daughter like, DISAPPEARED for a week - she didn't look pregnant at like 33 weeks. One of the things I read during my frenzied research is that fundal measurement can have a +/- of FIVE WEEKS!!!
So, I know it's stressful, but as someone who pretty much never measured bigger than 34 weeks and had a perfectly perfect little boy, I just wanted to share that so hopefully you can have your stress alleviated a tiny bit!
Thanks ladies. My appointment was great! Baby is measuring ahead, at 32 weeks, so it's likely that I'm just carrying her farther back. The tech says she has lots of hair, which is cool!
I'm so relieved.
