This morning my hr doc's office called andf asked if I could change my appt today from 4pm to 10:45am because the doc had to be somewhere else by 5. I couldn't because I had childcare arranged for my boys. They asked if I could do 3:30 which I was able to finagle. Once at the appointment I felt super rushed, like they couldn't get rid of me fast enough,
Baby A is in the 45% at 4lbs 14oz and Baby B is in 70% at 5lbs 10oz (+/- 13 oz). They didn't seem concerned but wanted me to continue my biweekly nst's, telling me the risk of stillbirth in twins is higher and this will help find problems. I was surprised by the disparity in their growth since they'd been at 50% both all along, and kind of felt like I was being dumped on the nst's to find potential problems since they didn't have time for me. Then they seemed surprised I was coming back in 2 weeks, though they are the ones who insisted I come before my c-section. Grrrrrrrrrrr.............
That's the worst...they should have rescheduled when they had time to properly take care of you & the babes. I think this is the time when twins start to take on their own characters and gain at their own speeds. They still both sound like they are in good ranges too. Try not to let them stress you out and if it makes you feel better, call the doctor and ask him to discuss the numbers more in depth. It's their job to care for you all and not just dump you off on the NSTs. Hope you are feeling ok
That sucks Sorry they seemed so rushed because the Dr was in a hurry.
Hope you get more time and answers next time you go in.
Are you able to call and ask someone questions about the size difference in them?
Thank you *JMC1988* for the perfect siggy
Sorry you were rushed and I am surprised if they were both measuring at 50%, they didn't schedule another u/s next week. It is true that fraternals will start to show growth rate changes. I know my sister's were identical and then 32 weeks came around the girl flew past the boy. (She still is much bigger than him at 13)
However if you want another peek, pick a time for the NST that you know the babies aren't usually active. They will usually try and wake them up and then send you for a u/s if not. I know since they schedule mine for 10:30 which is nap time and I have to fight not to have one each time. I had to finally ask for a 4pm next one and they weren't happy since they close the office at 4:30.
