I remember someone posted about padsicles a while ago on here. I completely forgot about them. The first week pp I made ice packs with a ziplock bag, crushed ice, and paper towels (wrap it several times with paper towels). Then I would stick it in my underwear directly on top of my pad.
I would say either an ice pack of some kind or a cold pad is a MUST for the first few days.
I was so going to make those but I never needed them in fact the only time i really hurt unbearably was when I tried to put an cold pack down there the cold drove me crazy not reliveing at all personaly ohhh and sitting on a wooden bench yeah dont do that lol. so never bothered with makeing or purchesing anything of the like although I think its pretty unusual to not like them from what iv heard they are amazing so maybe im just wierd lol.
I used them until I was completely healed. I also had a forcep delivery, so I think I was also bruised so they really felt great. I just ran my pads under water then stuck them in the freezer. I went through a ton but they really felt great. lol
