I thought we would be lucky and avoid the dreaded 4 month sleep regression since we went through one around 2.5 months, but not so much.
Our LOs sleep cycles/patterns start changing and mimicking ours (as in adults). Instead if taking 10-15 minutes for them to get into a deep sleep...it now starts taking them 45 minutes.
Madeline took 3 hours to go to sleep last night.....she would fall asleep, wake up wanting to play, and repeat 10x. Then, she got up at 4am for a bottle. She was STTN for 8-10 hours consistently (with the exception of her 2.5 month regression).
I'm praying this doesn't last too long. But, it can last weeks-months. We shall see.
Emily's sleep patterns were pretty normal until last night. She would fall asleep for like a minute then wake up, wail, throw her arms and legs up, then repeat. This went on for well over an hour and it was really frustrating. I hope it's not a sign of things to come...
4am is when Emily wakes up too, but she's been doing that since the beginning so that's nothing new. I wish she would put herself back to sleep but usually she starts crying to eat so I sleep nurse her and she goes back to sleep. I notice when she's growing through a growth spurt, she'll also wake up at 12am, 2am and 6am. Those are fun times!
We're in a major four-month regression or a growth spurt or teething or all three combined! Jackson has never been one to sleep for long periods of time, but it's to the point of ridiculousness lately. Seriously, sometimes he's awake in 30 minutes after a middle-of-the-night feeding.
Carli is doing the same thing goes to sleep late after taking at least three hours to get there and the wakes up in the middle of the night and stays up for at least an hour. I'm not a happy mommy the past week
