Do you test the water temperature before you put baby in the bath? Do you use a thermometer, you hand or something else to test the water?

When Jackson was a baby I had this duck that you would put in the water and it would tell you if the water was too hot but I always thought that the water was just too cold, so I just started testing the water with my hand. I usually will get the water luke warm or just a bit warmer and Jacob seems fine with that. Now that Jackson is bigger he can tell me if the water is too hot or not.

Thank you *Kiliki* for my beautiful siggy

I just use my hand or elbow... now that I am thinking about it that could have just been some crazy thing someone made up.... but they said to use your elbow because it was more sensitive to the water than your hands. but perhaps they were crazy..or me...lol

I think I probably get it warmer than the average mom, LOL. But I just can't stand the thought of him sitting in cold water..yuck! So I always do it a little warmer than the duck allows. I stopped using the duck a while back. I do it warm enough that I would be comfortable in it and he loves it. I think he likes the hot water!

Thanks Kiliki for the siggie!

Same as Ashley here! We have the duck but it's mostly a bath toy for her at this point. Kira also loves the warmer water.

We have the duck too but it's a toy. Both kids like a warm bath. If it's too cold Allison complains.

Thanks to Claire1979 for the terrific siggy!

I have never used a bath thermometer. I have always used the inside of my wrist for all of my children.

I put my hand in up to my forearm. I don't worry too much and I have it more warm than cold. The nicu nurse bathed him in REALLY warm water. I was shocked how warm. So to me I learned warm can be fine.

Thanks PrincessMom08 for my wonderful siggy!
