I don't know if this has been discussed before, but my daughter is thinking of trying it. She hopes it will be cheaper. Anyway, who uses them? What kind do you like? What works for you? PS i hope you are well these days.

I bought a punch of OS pockets and prefolds with covers. I don't even use my prefolds. Love the pockets. I haven't had any problems with leaks or blow outs, diaper rash hasn't been a problem once. I have Sunbaby Fuzzibunz and Happy Heinys pockets then 4 BumGenius AIOs. I like the convenience of the all in ones but they take forevvverr to dry. All in all I love cloth. It works for us. We do laundry every other day and my stash has about 32 OS diapers. They are addicting though! I'm setting my limit at 50, lol. I'm always wanting to buy more. Even if I did buy all 50 I'd still be saving money especially if diapering more than one child with them. If they are taken care of they can last through multiple babies.

right now I am using fitteds with covers. Those work best (for us) for newborn poop containment. Once he's on some solids I'll move him into pockets.

I'm using prefolds and covers. My mil bought almost the entire stash so I have a lot of different stuff. I think I like the Bummis covers the best since they are Velcro and easier to adjust. Most of what I have are Thirsties with snaps though. They are fine, but I'd buy more Bummis if I needed them. We do laundry every other day too. It takes about 70 minutes to get the prefolds dry. I'm not doing cloth at night though. I'm too lazy to change them when I'm half asleep.

One thing I've always been terrible at is getting stains out of laundry. I'm really struggling to keep the prefolds looking fresh. That's probably just me though.

For the newborn, I'm using fitted diapers (Nanipoos & Kissaluvs) with covers. I don't like dealing with prefolds and she's too small for pockets right now. At night, I put her in disposable because I don't want her laying there in a sopping wet diaper. Eventually, she will be in all pocket diapers. I've tried Sunbaby, Alvas, Green Bees, and a few others, but my favorite pockets hands down are the BumGenius 4.0's. For my super soaker toddler, I use 3 inserts - Bamboo/BG insert/Hemp on the bottom. That's my bullet proof diaper combo.

I think the key is to not let them get stained in the first place. I keep washing them on cold until they are perfectly clean. Only do a hot wash if they are clean as it will bake stains in!
They say to put stained stuff outside to dry in the sun.... you should try it and let us know??
I also use prefolds and covers... and I do two whole cycles on cold (inc. 2nd rinse) to keep my prefolds looking like new. :-)
