Is anyone supplementing with Vit D? My pedi didn't say anything about it - but it is in all these baby books. I'm particularly concerned since it's so cold outside that we are not going out much. If you are supplementing - what are you using? I'm considering getting the Baby Ddrops - since it appears you can put one drop on your nipple before feeding...

I havent heard of these drops, interesting! Im going to look into that.

I am taking so much right now... more than when I was pregnant by far! I take 8 pills in the morning, 6 at night. A prenatal, stool softener-though its probably not needed any more, DHA, fish oil, fenugreek, and the placenta capsules.

The nurses in the nursery talked about these, but when I talked to my midwife she said that they don't think it's necessary, that everything that she needs is in the breast milk already. But she did say that if I was worried about it the best thing would be for me take a supplement and let her get it through the breast milk.

My Ped recommended it. Also gave me a sample of Vit D drops. I havent started them yet because I'm giving LO gas drops and gripe water to help her reflux. SO I was gonna wait till I can get her more regulated.

We do supplement with vit D drops. We use Carlson Daily Vitamin D. It has 400IU, the dose for babies, in one drop. Works well!

Ive read mixed things about this. Some say that a EBF baby doesnt need any extra supplementation, some say they do. Having said that, I've never supplemented and dont plan on starting now.

I havent had an actual pediatric appointment yet. They were fortifying the breastmilk I brought in but they said he no longer needs that. I guess on wednesday I will hear what is suggested for Truett!

I've never supplemented...my peds have never recommended it and to be honest I always forget to ask! I just take my prenatal.

When baby is a little older, 1 year or so, I will start a multivitamin.

Our hospital and doctor both gave us drops for ds, but we have chosen not to give them. I tried with dd but she threw up every time she had it, so we stopped after a week. She's turned out perfect so far
