I wish you lived close hilhillrn: I have an arms reach cosleeper collecting dust in the closet. We've got Vi in a bassinette but she ends up sleeping with me in bed most times. I believe in cosleeping as well. I didn't want to do it when #1 was born. Until noone got sleep. Then it seemed VERY OBVIOUS that it was best for baby, mommy and daddy! All my kids transitioned to their cribs by 6 months. One had to be transitioned by first putting the carseat in with him and then giving him more room at a time. but my daughter did just fine.

We have a cosleeper and right now I'm using it next to the bed to hold the diapers and wipes, etc. She slept in it the first night and after that I couldn't get her to sleep anywhere but next to me. I always said that we wouldn't do it, but after she spent the first ten days of her life apart from me in the nicu I feel much more indulgent and it's probably more about me than her. We put her in the swing the other night when she was a little fussy and I couldn't sleep! I kept waking up to check on her!

I'm trying to transition her to the crib- I don't feel safe cosleeping anymore. I've gotten far to used to her sleeping with me, and woke up the other night with her next to me, and not on my chest like I fell asleep. I don't remember moving her at all, and I'm terrified that I'll end up hurting her.
I'm not surprised, I do all sorts of things in my sleep without ever knowing it.
