I am going to try pumping one side while I nurse on the other. Just curious because my letdown is soooooooooo strong when I nurse but it isn't when I pump. I just really want to see how much I get (I am slowly building a stash). Anyone do this? I'm excited for Jonah's next feeding!

I haven't done this but let us know how it goes. I have noticed lately that I have a much stronger let down on the opposite side when I am nursing, too.

Well I did it and spilled the milk!!!! I got an ounce in less than a minute..it was crazy. Got frustrated when the milk spilled out and stopped. I have no clue how the milk came out..but it did. I'll try again later

Oh no! I can't imagine trying to nurse and pump at the same time. Sounds tricky.

It was tricky! I read in some of the nursing literature the hospital gave me to do that to get a lot of milk for if you need a bottle. It was really coming out fast and a lot. I had to laugh at myself for trying it ..oh what I have must've looked like

Haha. I bet a pumping bra would make it a lot easier if you want to do it all the time

I wAnt to try that!! I don't know though, Jett likes to kick his legs around while he nurses, I could see him making it difficult.

That's why it was tricky..Jonah is a mover during our nursing sessions.

Yeah, Eve is also a kicker. Plus, she likes me to stand up and walk around while nursing.

I do it all the time, lol. I use those bustier/pumping bra stuff though. In the beginning when I had serious supply, I use to get 5oz without even pumping. I just have everything attached and as she nurses on one breast, milk flows into the bottle on the other. It still happens now when I am really engorged but I'll get maybe 2oz on the other breast without pumping. But pumping and nursing is a regular occurrence for me (still did it in bed this morning) and the pumping bra makes it so manageable

I have a hard time pumping and nursing at the same time because I still have to guide William's latch, so sometimes I'll feed him a couple of times on one side and then pump the non fed side. Also, I find pumping overnight gets me a good yield as well.

I actually did this just this afternoon! It's tricky for sure. And I still only got about 3 oz out of my "bad" side. Lol

I can't nurse without my boppy so that got in the way. Nina did you use a nursing bra?

Yes, try getting one of those pumping bras: I use this one and just keep the zipper for the other breast unzipped.
Easy Expression

You also have to watch out for those little legs. Luyando loves to kick so I make sure to position her to my side with her legs towards my back or at least separate her legs from the bottle. It probably is tricky but I did it from the beginning so I'm used to it now.
