My Philip has been soooo gassy and misserable! I made lasagna and ate it two dinners in a row and it was not kind to my tummy at all! Everything I read online says what you eat DOESN'T effect BM. (Unless it's an allergy, like to nuts, lactose, etc.) Hmmmm. :/ I always was told by my mom (or my all-knowing 'elders') things that bother your tummy will bother baby's too. What do you ladies think? Do any things you eat give baby gas?

Tomato based products like pizza, spaghetti, lasagna really bug LO, and I was way dumb and had brats and sauerkraut one dinner. I think it matters!

Spaghetti with tomato sauce and garlic bread really bothers Mikaela. in fact, she seems to be overly gassy all the time. Im currently cutting out dairy to see if that helps.

I know WAY too many Moms who swear their diet affects their BF'd babies to believe that it doesn't. Cut out all offensive foods for a few days & you'll be able to tell!

They definitely do pass through. I won't eat broccoli, beans, corn, any red sauce(s), garlic, onions when nursing. Not worth the risk of them not bugging the baby. Dairy can also cause it but it does take 2 full weeks to get out of the BM.

Also caffeine can cause it. Found that out after eliminating all "gassy" foods with my first. I wasn't thinking and had a cup of tea around 5pm each night. By 9, you would think I gave the baby beans and she would be miserable for 4+ hours. Took me weeks to realize it was the dang tea and remove it. The following night, she was a perfect little angel.
